Are you helping today's youth?

The 2008 Allen County United Youth Summit will be an event filled day of excitement and learning for the youth of Allen County. From speakers to workshops to lunch, you'll be sure to enjoy every moment.

The Youth Summit will be held at the IPFW Walb Student Union from 8:45am to 1:00pm. Be sure to arrive early to make sure you have time to register, view booths, and grab a bite to eat.

  1. Keeping the County Clean - Beautification projects, environmental issues - let's clean it up and save the earth!
  2. Unify our Diversity - Allen County is a mosaic masterpiece of cultures. Learn about the diverseness of our community, their issues and needs - and how you can be a part of bringing them all together.
  3. Getting Fit in the Fort - Do you want to lead a healthy lifestyle? Can you positively influence others to get fit, eat right, and live well? Join this session to get the Fort fit!
  4. The Need to Read - Literacy is a great concern in Allen Count. How can you help make sure every young child - or even adult - can read? You'll find out here!
  5. Forging Fort Wayne's Future - After you graduate - either from high school or college - why on earth would you want to return to Fort Wayne? We'll tell you why in this session. Get rewarded for returning to the city that made you who you are!
  6. Reaching Out - So, you want to volunteer but not sure how or where to do it? Attend this session to see some great opportunities.

  6. How to Apply for a Youth As Resources Grant - A minimum of $5,000 will be available to be granted to community organizations who have a plan to implement a community service project in the near future.

Savannah Walters

Savannah Walters is the keynote speaker for the youth summit this year. Savannah and her volunteers give out free tire gauges, generously donated by Sears, Firestone, Goodyear and the Rubber Manufacturers Association, to people across the country. She founded Pump 'em Up in order to spread the cause.
